Troop 62 Serves Catoctin Mountain Park

Troop 62 served Catoctin Mountain Park on Saturday, April 21, 2012.  Three of our newest scouts along with 2 adult leaders worked at the Chestnut Spicebush Nature Trail raking leaves and creating a natural look along the newly surfaced trail.  Our older scouts worked along the Hog Rock Nature Trail digging and placing water bars to help control the erosion to the trail.  The scouts had to haul the water bars as well as all their tools about a mile to the section of the trail that needed the work.  The scouts worked very hard and the park rangers were grateful for their work.  Below are some pictures from the service work that the older scouts completed.  MANY THANKS to the scouts who participated in this service to our community.
