Troop 62 Hosts Webelos Scouts

Troop 62 invited the area Webelos Scouts to come and visit on Monday, January 10, 2011. Webelos from Cub Scout Packs 108, 26, 22, 34 and 14 were invited to attend the evening of information for parents and First Aid fun for the scouts. Thanks to the Smithsburg EMT's who came out and gave the scouts the opportunity to learn some basic CPR and take a walk though the ambulance. Thanks to Jim Eberhart for setting up a station for the scouts to create fake wounds (moulage). Troop 62 scouts moved through the stations with the Webelos. Troop 62 committee members met with parents while scouts moved through the various stations. Parents were presented with information about the Troop and given the opportunity to ask questions. Many thanks to the Troop 62 committee members who provided items for Taco Joes for the scouts following the meeting. Below are pictures from the event.

Winter Camporee - Mason Dixon Council - BSA

Troop 62 joined many troops from the Mason Dixon Council of the BSA at their annual Winter Camporee. The camporee was held at the Antrim Community Park in Greencastle, PA. Scouts worked on basic scout skills during the weekend. Scouts had an opportunity to participate in patch trading. Troops also participated in a Klondike Sled race! Troop 62 was represented with 10 scouts and 5 adults. It was a cold weekend with temperatures in the mid 20's.
