Biking/Camping Trip

Our scouts had the opportunity to bike from Paw Paw, WV to Williamsport, MD on July 11 & 12, 2010. On Saturday, the scouts biked the C&O Canal from Paw Paw to Hancock, MD where they camped at Happy Trails Campground for the night. On Sunday, they biked the rest of the way, partially on the Rail Trail and on the C&O Canal. The scouts biked a total of 58 miles.

Service to the Community

On Saturday, July 17th and Sunday, July 18th, Troop 62 spent time serving the community of Smithsburg at their annual Smithsburg Pride Days celebration. Troop 62 set up 2 booths. At one booth, scouts shared the different aspects of scouting including styles of tents, fire building techniques and much more! At the other booth, scouts sold drinks and candy.

Sinoquipe - Summer Camp

Our Troop returned from Camp Sinoquipe in Fort Littleton, PA just a week ago! Our troop had 36 scouts and 8 leaders attend summer camp! The scouts had a great week working on rank advancements and merit badges! 4 scouts earned the Polar Bear Plunge Award. 5 scouts earned their Brotherhood in the Order of the Arrow. 2 scouts were Tapped Out for the Order of the Arrow. Our scouts earned about 90 merit badges during the week and many are ready for rank advancements as well. Congratulations to all our scouts for a FABULOUS week at camp! Many THANKS to the leaders who took time off work to spend the week at camp with our scouts!
